{"id":47028,"date":"2025-07-30T07:48:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T07:48:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/47028\/"},"modified":"2025-07-30T07:48:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T07:48:10","slug":"tennis-fans-to-get-sneak-peak-on-dining-options-at-us-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/47028\/","title":{"rendered":"Tennis fans to get sneak peak on dining options at US Open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis fans will get an early taste of the US Open with a new format for mixed doubles \u2013 giving them a sneak preview at the new dining options that will also debut next month.<\/p>\n<p>The upscale and usually pricey scene will add James Beard-nominated rising star Robbie Felice\u2019s pastaRAMEN, a new spin from <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/07\/23\/business\/top-chef-simon-kim-to-make-us-open-debut-with-cult-hit-coqodaq-as-all-star-roster-revealed\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Simon Kim\u2019s COQODAQ<\/a> and the long-awaited return of famed chef Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s, Side Dish has learned.<\/p>\n<p>They will join regular favorites like Alex Guarnaschelli, Kwame Onwuachi, Ed Brown, David Burke, Josh Capon, Pat LaFrieda and Masaharu Morimoto, according to United States Tennis Association officials.<\/p>\n<p>The US Open will add James Beard-nominated rising star Robbie Felice\u2019s pastaRAMEN. His mystery pastaReman menu for the US Open will be available through hidden drops on social media. Jeffrey Elkashab<\/p>\n<p>The mixed doubles tournament will begin during Fan Week on Aug. 19 and 20, and will feature the return of Venus Williams \u2014 on the 25th anniversary of her first US Open. She will be seeking the $1 million grand prize with partner Reilly Opelka.<\/p>\n<p>The food front is just as well matched.<\/p>\n<p>Andres, returning to the US Open for the first time since 2019, will showcase Oyamel. The restaurant from the Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s Group will team up with the Dobel Tequila Club to create a restaurant\/lounge with diverse Mexican food and cocktails. Dishes will include Oyamel\u2019s taco cohinita, made with Yucatan-style pit barbecued pork, achiote, Mexican sour orange and pickled red onion.<\/p>\n<p>Felice, known for his secret $350 per person, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/04\/12\/secret-japanese-italian-restaurant-pops-up-inside-nyc-hair-salon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">14-course omakase pop-ups<\/a> in New York, Miami and Los Angeles, celebrating Italian-Japanese fusion cuisine, runs four different restaurants in New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>His pastaRAMEN menu for the US Open will be available through hidden drops on social media, Felice exclusively told Side Dish.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have three appetizers, izakaya-style finger food that people know and love, along with a ramen,\u201d he teased, adding that there will also be two dessert options including his famed zeppoli bao buns and a new strawberry yuzu Japanese-Italian ice that will be \u201ccool, new and fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho wouldn\u2019t want something cold and iced when you are out in the heat,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Simon Kim \u2013 the founder and CEO of Gracious Hospitality Management, which includes Michelin-starred Cote Korean Steakhouse in New York \u2013 is returning for his second year. Gary He<\/p>\n<p>COQODAQ will be offering favorites like its \u201cgolden nuggets.\u201d  Kelsey Cherry<\/p>\n<p>Kim \u2013 the founder and CEO of Gracious Hospitality Management, which includes Michelin-starred Cote Korean Steakhouse in New York \u2013 is returning for his second year with a second location and a twist to the elevated fried chicken served at COQODAQ.<\/p>\n<p>The revamped \u201cCQDQ\u201d will be located in the Food Village, where it will serve a new chicken sandwich, while COQODAQ will still be offering favorites like its \u201cgolden nuggets\u201d paired with caviar at its original spot in the club level of Arthur Ashe Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a massive undertaking, and we can\u2019t wait for everyone to experience it,\u201d Kim said.<\/p>\n<p>The popular dining hall Aces \u2014 which opens after Fan Week \u2014 will boast a roster of culinary all-stars, including Michelin-starred chef Ed Brown, Iron chef Masaharu Morimoto and James Beard Award-winning chef Kwame Onwuachi.<\/p>\n<p>Venus Williams, shown in 2002, will participate in the mixed doubles tournament. AP<\/p>\n<p>Guarnaschelli, the Michelin-starred \u201cIron Chef\u201d returns for her fifth year with dishes and cocktails from her Mediterranean bistro, Fare. David Burke\u2019s Cuban-American fusion hotspot, Mojito by David Burke, is also back, along with Josh Capon\u2019s Fly Fish, featuring lobster rolls, tuna poke, oysters and more.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be new dishes and returning faves from LaFrieda Meat Co., Champions by Benjamin\u2019s Steakhouse, Carnegie Deli, San Matteo NYC, Dos Toros Taqueria, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Fuku, Eataly, Korilla BBQ, Poke Yachty, Hill Country BBQ, King Souvlaki, The Migrant Kitchen, The Nourish Spot, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream and more.<\/p>\n<p>Fan Week will begin Aug. 18, with the mixed doubles tournament starting the following day.
