El Grande Americano responded to the \u201cOriginal\u201d El Grande Americano with a warning Sunday on Instagram Stories<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A day after a vignette aired on Lucha Libre AAA in which the \u201cOriginal\u201d branded his rival a fraud<\/a>, the man who has since become a Mexican folk hero called out the initial Americano for relying on AI.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a f***ing lack of respect for me and my people,\u201d Americano said, speaking directly to the camera in Spanish. \u201cThat clown doesn\u2019t speak Spanish. He uses f***in\u2019 artificial intelligence because he doesn\u2019t have the courage to say a single f***in\u2019 word for real.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans quickly called out WWE for using an AI-generated video<\/a>, which was how the company first introduced the character last year.<\/p>\n

In Saturday\u2019s vignette, the shorter, muscular \u201cOriginal\u201d accused his taller doppelganger of identity theft, branded him an impostor, and vowed to win the AAA Mega Championship. He appeared before cheering fans waving a Mexican flag, and later in a rural field surrounded by supporters.<\/p>\n

The flag imagery especially angered the Spanish-speaking Americano, who said, \u201cHe has the audacity to raise our flag. Shorty, our flag isn\u2019t an accessory for a fake video, fool. That flag is to be respected, to be defended.\u201d<\/p>\n

This Americano \u2014 portrayed by German star Ludwig Kaiser \u2014 has surged in popularity in Mexico. Meanwhile, U.S. fans have sided with the \u201cOriginal,\u201d initially played by Chad Gable before an injury, despite early criticism, including being billed from \u201cThe Gulf of America.\u201d<\/p>\n

Americano ended with a warning, saying, \u201cWhen someone crosses the line with me and with us, they pay the consequences \u2014 for my colors, for my people, and for Mexico. We\u2019re gonna see each other soon, and this time, without filters, without f***in\u2019 artificial intelligence, face to face, shorty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Regardless, the battle lines are drawn: the \u201cOriginal\u201d El Grande Americano vs. the version embraced by Mexico, turning a battle of personas into a fight over pride, culture, and true authenticity.<\/p>\n
