He also declared, \u201cTrump is on the scene now,\u201d and vowed to \u201cmake his [Moul\u2019s] life miserable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comments came the same day the TVA Board of Directors voted to reverse earlier plans to retire certain coal-fired units. Instead, the board opted to continue operating coal plants at the Kingston and Cumberland fossil plants in Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>Trump praised the board\u2019s decision to maintain coal production but continued to criticize TVA leadership. Reports indicate Moul, who became CEO in spring 2025, was going to get more than $6 million in his first year. The $10 million figure referenced by Trump aligns with compensation received by former CEO Jeff Lyash, who got more than $10 million in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the president\u2019s remarks, TVA spokesperson Melissa Green said in a statement to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.knoxnews.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2026\/02\/12\/trump-vows-to-make-tennessee-valley-authority-tva-ceo-don-moul-life-miserable-at-pro-coal-event\/88633880007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Knox News<\/a>: \u201cTVA operates one of the nation\u2019s largest power systems, providing affordable, reliable energy to 10 million people.
