Remembrances poured in Monday in honor of Robert Duvall, the Oscar-winning actor<\/a> known for roles in \u201cApocalypse Now,\u201d \u201cLonesome Dove,\u201d Tender Mercies\u201d and as the intrepid consigliere of the first two \u201cGodfather\u201d movies. <\/p>\n

Duvall died Sunday at age 95 at his home in Virginia, according to an announcement from his publicist and a statement posted on his Facebook page by his wife, Luciana Duvall. <\/p>\n

Francis Ford Coppola<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a blow to learn of the loss of Robert Duvall. Such a great actor and such an essential part of (the production company) American Zoetrope from its beginning: The Rain People, The Conversation, The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Apocalypse Now, THX 1138, Assassination Tango.\u201d \u2014 the director of \u201cThe Godfather\u201d and other Duvall movies, on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Al Pacino<\/p>\n
