Logan Thompson<\/a> may be playing second fiddle to Jordan Binnington<\/a> in goal, but he\u2019s still showing support in any way he can to Team Canada in the Olympics.<\/p>\n

Monday, Thompson jumped onto his Instagram Story to brag about his national team comrade, Tom Wilson<\/a>, after the Washington Capitals winger had a Gordie Howe Hat Trick against France.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cOnly @tomwilson,\u201d Thompson wrote<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s my bestie. That\u2019s my bestie.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Canada\u2019s 10-2 win over France, Wilson registered a goal, an assist, and a fighting major \u2014 he fought the Frenchmen\u2019s Pierre Crinon after a head hit to Nathan MacKinnon<\/a> \u2014 which gave the Canadians the number one seed in the Olympics\u2019 playoff tournament.<\/p>\n

Calling Wilson his \u201cbestie\u201d continues a fun, new development between the pair, as Thompson has previously found more joy in stirring things up with Tom in the Capitals locker room. Over the past year, Thompson has put an egg in Wilson\u2019s locker stall during the playoffs<\/a>, put a piece of tape on Tom\u2019s helmet with a smiley face<\/a>, and had one of his goalie masks painted to feature Wilson\u2019s swollen face<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just really easy to get under his skin,\u201d Thompson said earlier in the season<\/a>. \u201cFor a big, tough guy, I always think he\u2019s pretty soft. So it\u2019s easy to egg him on a little bit. I don\u2019t think I\u2019d ever fight him, but it\u2019s definitely easy. It\u2019s fun to get him going for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

But since being named to Team Canada<\/a> \u2014 the \u201cbig head\u201d jokes<\/a> have stopped \u2014 and the frenemies have leaned more into their love and respect for each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I speak for everyone in the room, that everyone would be really disappointed Tom wasn\u2019t there,\u201d Thompson said the day he was named to Canada\u2019s Olympic team on December 21. \u201cThankful to be there with him, going over with a teammate, best friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

He highlighted that closeness again in another exchange.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be fun,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cI get to go over there with the best goalie in the world. We\u2019re two best buds.\u201d<\/p>\n
