Hitting a baseball is hard.<\/p>\n

Hitting a baseball thrown by an MLB pitcher should be darn-near impossible.<\/p>\n

Yet somehow, every year, plenty of guys prove capable of hitting the baseball, occasionally a long way.<\/p>\n

It’s one of the most impressive athletic feats there is.<\/p>\n

This video of Trey Yesavage helps prove that point.<\/p>\n

It’s taken by MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson, and it gives about as good a view of possible of what it might be like to stand in a major league batter’s box and try to hit Yesavage.<\/p>\n

Yesavage does have filthy stuff. He throws super hard, and he’s thought to have one of the best splitters in baseball.<\/p>\n

These days, almost every pitcher throws with high velocity. Most have honed their offspeed pitches with various pitching labs or high-speed cameras to figure out the best way to throw them. There are so many ways to get better as a pitcher.<\/p>\n

Yesavage will have to keep getting better, too. He took the league by storm late last season and into the playoffs, but he hasn’t had a large MLB sample size yet.<\/p>\n

It’s a good thing we don’t have to hit him, because that wouldn’t go well.<\/p>\n

The Blue Jays are hoping it’s a tough task for their opponents, too.<\/p>\n
