A spy tells us that when the mag\u2019s founder, stylist Derek Warburton, stood up to thank guests for coming, he couldn\u2019t resist a playful jab at the former \u201cDancing With the Stars\u201d contestant.<\/p>\n
\u201cHilaria said \u2018thank you\u2019 in her signature faux Spanish accent and Derek joked back, \u2018I love you whatever accent they think you use,\u2019 which had about 50 people breaking out in laughter,\u201d says the spy.<\/p>\n

In 2020 social media began noticing some inconsistencies in Alec Baldwins wife\u2019s personal story and her accent.<\/p>\n
Videos circulated online of her speaking with a thick affect, like during a \u201cToday Show\u201d cooking segment where she appeared to forget how to say the word \u201ccucumber.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cHow do you say in English?\u201d the mom, who grew up as\u00a0Hillary Hayward-Thomas in Boston, asked the host.<\/p>\n
She once famously forgot how to say \u201ccucumber\u201d on the \u201cToday Show.\u201d Instagram \/ @hilariabaldwin<\/p>\n
In her book, \u201cManual Not Included,\u201d Baldwin blamed the accent mix-up on \u201ccode-switching,\u201d as well as ADHD and dyslexia<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd these [diagnoses] greatly impact my speech, my reading, my listening, my focus, my memory and my self-confidence,\u201d she wrote in her book.<\/p>\n She called the social media users who called out the tics\u00a0\u201ca coordinated mob.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI spent some of my childhood in Boston, some of my childhood in Spain,\u201d she explained in<\/a> 2020 following the uproar. \u201cMy family, my brother, my parents, my nephew, everybody is over there in Spain now [while] I\u2019m here.\u201d<\/p>\n However, as Page Six reported, Hilaria\u2019s parents\u00a0didn\u2019t move to Mallorca until 2011<\/a>, when she was already 27 years old.<\/p>\n She talked about the issue in her book and on her reality show with Alec Baldwin and their seven children.<\/p>\n
