\n\tPeter Greene<\/a>, the \u201cPulp Fiction\u201d character actor who died on Dec. 12<\/a> at 60 years old, suffered a fatal accidental gunshot wound, it was revealed Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe died from \u201ca gunshot wound of the left axilla with injury of the brachial artery,\u201d according to the New York\u2019s Chief Medical Examiner office\u00a0(via People<\/a>). The bullet entered his left armpit and caused major bleeding after damaging the artery supplying blood to his arm, elbow, forearm and hand. Greene\u2019s death was ruled an accident.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor had been found dead in his apartment in New York\u2019s Lower East Side on Dec. 12, 2025. A neighbor reportedly called his landlord and the police to perform a wellness check after hearing music play non-stop in Greene\u2019s apartment for several days.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn Quentin Tarantino\u2019s \u201cPulp Fiction,\u201d Greene played Zed, a security guard who rapes crime boss Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames). Three of the characters \u2014 Greene\u2019s Zed, Duane Whitaker\u2019s Maynard and Stephen Hibbert\u2019s gimp \u2014 were \u201cpsycho hillbillies\u201d that paid homage to the 1972 film \u201cDeliverance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso in 1994, Greene played the villain Dorian Tyrell in \u201cThe Mask\u201d opposite Jim Carrey. He was a mafioso with a plan to overthrow his boss by donning the powerful Mast of Loki, which transformed his physique to be muscle-bound and his voice to be deep and demonic.<\/p>\n

\n\tGreene appeared in almost 100 films and TV shows, including \u201cFor Life,\u201d \u201cChicago P.D.,\u201d \u201cHawaii Five-O,\u201d \u201cJustified,\u201d \u201cLife on Mars,\u201d \u201cThe Black Donnellys,\u201d \u201cTesla,\u201d \u201cCity of Lies,\u201d \u201cOnce Fallen,\u201d \u201cPermanent Midnight\u201d and more.
