\u201cBut despite the difficulties, we tried our best. I don\u2019t want to make excuses.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t blame my players for their effort. We were caught out by their well-executed transitions.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe asked for pressure on the ball carrier,\u201d he added. \u201cThat wasn\u2019t the problem.<\/p>\n
The issue was losing possession in transition, which left us exposed defensively. They\u2019re fast, technical, and move better on this pitch.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s not an excuse.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had that chance at 1-1 that we could have managed better or had a bit of luck with. Then, in a few minutes, we conceded two identical goals.\u201d<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Chivu remains confident about Inter\u2019s chances of turning this tie on its head.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to assess how we are,\u201d he claimed. \u201cWe play Lecce in three days, and then we\u2019ll have time to focus on the second leg.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything is still open; there\u2019s the second leg. We knew they could hurt us on the break.
