{"id":478179,"date":"2026-02-19T16:37:12","date_gmt":"2026-02-19T16:37:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/478179\/"},"modified":"2026-02-19T16:37:12","modified_gmt":"2026-02-19T16:37:12","slug":"reliance-adani-drive-indias-ai-push-with-plans-to-invest-210-billion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/478179\/","title":{"rendered":"Reliance, Adani drive India&#8217;s AI push with plans to invest $210 billion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">By Chandini Monnappa, Surbhi Misra and Urvi Dugar<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">BENGALURU, Feb 19 (Reuters) &#8211; India&#8217;s biggest conglomerates are stepping up a push into AI and data infrastructure, with Reliance \u200ccommitting about $110 billion and Adani pledging $100 billion to position the nation as an \u200cemerging hub for AI development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">While the sum is modest against the more than $630 billion U.S. tech giants are expected \u200bto spend this year, India is offering tax breaks for foreign firms operating from domestic data centres, along with measures to lure more AI talent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">&#8220;Our resolve is clear: make intelligence as ubiquitous as connectivity,&#8221; said billionaire Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance, arguing that cheaper computing will spur \u200cinnovation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">His company wants to bring to \u2060AI the same playbook it used to disrupt the telecom market in 2016 by slashing data prices and expanding access.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">News of the plans come \u2060as top executives gathered in New Delhi for a major summit, amid rising investment from Google, Amazon, Meta Platforms and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/organizations\/microsoft\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:Microsoft;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Microsoft<\/a> in India&#8217;s AI and cloud ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\">Reliance and Adani benefit from renewable\u2011powered data \u200bcentres, \u200bas their own energy assets cut reliance on costly \u200bgrid power.
