{"id":479117,"date":"2026-02-20T03:23:16","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T03:23:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/479117\/"},"modified":"2026-02-20T03:23:16","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T03:23:16","slug":"renee-zellweger-and-ant-anstead-sued-by-guest-who-claims-she-hurt-herself-at-their-rental-home-globe-magazine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/479117\/","title":{"rendered":"Renee Zellweger and Ant Anstead Sued by Guest Who Claims She Hurt Herself at Their Rental Home \u2013 Globe Magazine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Featured-1-Renee-Zellweger-Ant-Anstead.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8107\"  \/> Ant Anstead\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>Ren\u00e9e Zellweger and her boyfriend, Ant Anstead, are facing legal trouble.<\/p>\n<p>According to a Wednesday, February 18, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/02\/18\/renee-zellweger-ant-anstead-sued-for-rental-property-injury\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">TMZ<\/a> report, the couple are being sued by a woman named Tracey Bryn Belland who claims she was seriously injured in 2024 while visiting a Laguna Beach, California, home the For the Love of Cars star was renting.<\/p>\n<p>The civil complaint, also obtained by <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/renee-zellweger-and-ant-anstead-sued-over-alleged-guest-injury-at-calif-rental-property-11909722\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">People<\/a>, filed last year in Orange County Superior Court stated that Belland \u201ctripped and fell on the patio\u201d because \u201ca thin rug had been placed over a hole,\u201d causing her to injure her right knee.<\/p>\n<p>She allegedly suffers \u201cphysical, economic and emotional injuries because of the fall,\u201d People reported.<\/p>\n<p>The complaint reportedly accuses the Bridget Jones Diary star, 56, and her boyfriend, 46 \u2014 as well as the property owner, Glenn Alan Wilson \u2014 of one count of negligence.<\/p>\n<p>TMZ reported that Wilson filed a cross-complaint against Zellweger and Anstead, claiming that they were responsible for <a href=\"https:\/\/globemagazine.com\/renee-zellweger-and-ant-anstead-have-serious-problems-to-navigate-but-are-trying-to-make-it-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">exposing Belland to harm<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-34927\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/MEGA1248205_055-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2186\" height=\"2560\"  \/> Snorlax \/ MEGA<\/p>\n<p>Zellweger and Anstead denied all allegations against them, and they claim Anstead \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/globemagazine.com\/renee-zellweger-and-ant-anstead-keep-wedding-plans-under-wraps-but-romance-is-thriving\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">acted reasonably<\/a>\u201d as a tenant of the home \u201cand performed all duties required of him under the rental agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A source with knowledge of the matter told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-15572455\/Renee-Zellweger-Ant-Anstead-sued-injured-rental-home.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Daily Mail<\/a> that Zellweger never lived at the rental property in question and maintained that the actress was never on the lease.<\/p>\n<p>The source claimed Belland was there as part of a gathering of friends at the home, but said Zellweger didn\u2019t witness the alleged fall because she was taking her dog to the veterinarian.<\/p>\n<p>According to the lease, per People, Anstead agreed to rent the home from January 1, 2024, to January 1, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The publication also reported that the case is set to go to jury trial on June 22.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Ant Anstead\/Instagram Ren\u00e9e Zellweger and her boyfriend, Ant Anstead, are facing legal trouble.
