\n\tThe New York Mets<\/a> had the best record in baseball in June before a second-half collapse kept them out of the postseason in 2025. Still, it was a record financial year at Citi Field for the Amazins\u2019 after they signed free agent Juan Soto<\/a> to the richest deal in MLB history worth $765 million over 15 years<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tQueens Ballpark Company had revenue of $311.4 million in 2025, according to a disclosure required by the financing agreement related to Citi Field. It was up from $260.8 million the prior year and $237.8 million in 2023.<\/p>\n

\n\tNet ticket revenue was $157.6 million, up from $136.7 million, as 850,000 more fans came through the turnstiles last season versus 2024.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe increased attendance also boosted premium seating and concession revenue. Luxury suite and club premium revenue nearly doubled to $39.1 million, while concessions jumped 55% to $38.3 million.<\/p>\n

\n\tParking ($16 million) and other ($7.7 million) round out the revenue picture. The $311 million does not include any revenue from the club\u2019s rights deal with SNY or distributions from MLB for its national media and sponsorship deals. The Mets also have to pay into MLB\u2019s revenue-sharing system as a top revenue club.<\/p>\n

\n\tOperating income for Queens Ballpark was $167 million, net of $26.3 million in depreciation and amortization charges. In reality, the Mets lost more than three as much as any other MLB club, due to their $347 million payroll, plus a $92 million luxury tax bill.<\/p>\n

\n\tSteve Cohen<\/a> can afford the $200 million-plus loss on the team he acquired in 2020 for an MLB-record $2.42 billion.
