Sports broadcaster Kenny Mayne has an outgoing personality and unique sense of humor that made him a fan-favorite SportsCenter anchor during his time at ESPN.<\/p>\n

However, apparently the folks at Augusta National were not fans of his wit.<\/p>\n

Kenny Mayne recently joined Stugotz<\/a> on the \u201cGod Bless Football\u201d podcast to discuss a number of topics, including the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

The conversation later turned to golf and Mayne was asked if he has ever played at Augusta National. He explained the interesting reason he has not played at the home of the Masters.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m banned for life from Augusta, I think,\u201d Kenny Mayne said<\/a>. \u201cWell, I was banned by ESPN. I don\u2019t know if Augusta, maybe they think I\u2019m an OK guy now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mayne explained that while covering a golf tournament, he made light of the fact that Augusta National was not allowing women to join its club. The first women were not allowed to join until 2012. <\/p>\n

\u201cI used to cover golf. I used to do the TPC Sawgrass, and I did the US Open every year for like seven-eight years,\u201d Mayne said. \u201cMe, [Scott] Van Pelt, Andy North, the whole gang. <\/p>\n

\u201cAt TPC one year I just made some smart [expletive] comment about \u2018we\u2019ll see you at the Masters,\u2019 \u2026 mentioning that I\u2019m bringing women to play golf.”<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take Augusta National long to contact ESPN and complain.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey called into the ESPN truck.
