Could it be possible? Has WB<\/a> finally landed on a production start window for The Batman Part II<\/a>? I\u2019ll believe it when I see some behind-the-scenes photos, but according to Variety<\/a>, The Batman Part II should start filming \u201cby the end of May.\u201d Wouldn\u2019t that be nice?<\/p>\n

Why is The Batman Part II taking so long?<\/p>\n

Okay, so I\u2019m being a brat about the movie\u2019s slow, limp progress toward production, but I understand why it\u2019s taken this long to get it off the ground. To begin, scheduling is a nightmare. The Batman Part II isn\u2019t just a movie; it\u2019s an anticipated blockbuster nearing mythical status, and it requires an impressive number of stars to enter production. Getting all those people (not to mention the crew) together in one place while they have commitments to other projects is a Herculean task. I wouldn\u2019t want that job, that\u2019s for sure. There\u2019s also the matter of Matt Reeves taking his time with the script. Anticipation for The Batman Part II is through the roof, and at this point, there\u2019s little Reeves can do to satisfy the entirety of the fandom. People will scrutinize this movie like there\u2019s no tomorrow, creating a pressure to deliver the goods that borders on madness. I\u2019m sure Reeves wants everything to be correct, and DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran know how important the Dark Knight is to DC\u2019s overall brand. If Batman doesn\u2019t hit, faith in DC\u2019s ability to stun audiences becomes shaken. It\u2019s a vicious, obnoxious cycle, but it\u2019s where we\u2019re at.<\/p>\n

Man of Tomorrow starts filming soon!<\/p>\n

In addition to saying that filming for The Batman Part II could begin in late May, WB also suggests that cameras could roll on James Gunn\u2019s Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow<\/a>, \u201cin a few weeks.\u201d Given the sequel\u2019s July 9, 2027, release date, this makes sense.<\/p>\n

Are we getting The Batman Part III before The Brave and the Bold?<\/p>\n

On the rumor front, industry insider Daniel Richtman says DC\u2019s The Brave and the Bold is \u201cnot coming for years. Instead, \u201cGunn is pushing to get The Batman Part III out faster\u2026 he wants that trilogy over\u2026 he wants to move on. [He] doesn\u2019t want two Batmans.\u201d While this statement is only a rumor, it makes sense that Gunn wouldn\u2019t want two Batmans running around the DCU, even with the DC Elseworlds deliniation. Some people are capable of keeping track of two Batmen, while more casual audiences are not. You might roll your eyes about this, but it\u2019s 100% true. Trust me, people who don\u2019t keep their finger on the pulse of this stuff.
