Nintendo not only announced Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition for Switch 2 this week, but launched the game digitally as well. But now that players have had some hands-on time with the game, we\u2019re hearing about some visual issues.<\/p>\n

Nintendo did say the game runs up to 60 frames per second, and that\u2019s mostly the case. However, the action can run just slightly lower than that in busier areas such as New Los Angeles. The good news is that you\u2019re pretty much getting 60 FPS when moving around Mira or during combat.<\/p>\n

GVG<\/a> has pointed out that there\u2019s unfortunately a bit of a shimmery \/ wobbly effect on textures in particular, which wasn\u2019t there previously. You can really see the issue clearly in the clips here<\/a> and here<\/a>. This seems to be more prominent in handheld mode, but it can be seen docked as well. Another example of the visual issues can be found here<\/a>. We\u2019re not quite sure what\u2019s going on, but some have speculated that it\u2019s related to upscaling.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The reception to the new Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has been a bit mixed. 60 frames per second is certainly welcome, but some feel that the visual quality is actually a downgrade. Your feelings will likely come down to how sensitive you are to the aforementioned issues.<\/p>\n

Now we bring up the obvious question: will the game be patched in the future to address the issues? Some fans are disappointed with visual quality, but perhaps that can be improved down the road.<\/p>\n
