(KWCH) &#8211; Former Wichita radio DJ Greg \u2018The Hitman\u2019 Williams died early Saturday morning after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwch.com\/2026\/02\/14\/former-wichita-radio-dj-battling-cancer-months-after-being-laid-off\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kwch.com\/2026\/02\/14\/former-wichita-radio-dj-battling-cancer-months-after-being-laid-off\/\">months long battle with cancer. <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Williams was a radio DJ for Power 93.5 and KEYN for 25 years before being laid off in March of 2025. He shared that he was among several employees <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kwch.com\/2025\/03\/08\/greg-hitman-williams-among-hundreds-laid-off-by-audacy\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kwch.com\/2025\/03\/08\/greg-hitman-williams-among-hundreds-laid-off-by-audacy\/\">impacted by a \u201cmassive\u201d layoff by Audacy.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">His family says less than two months later Williams was diagnosed with stage four metastatic cholangiocarcinoma with extensive metastasis, a rare and aggressive type of cancer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Williams was hospitalized on January 28, but was released to recover at home. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A spokesperson from Audacy shared this statement:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">&#8220;We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Greg \u201cThe Hitman\u201d Williams. For more than four decades, Greg was a true Wichita legend, who connected with listeners through his energy, authenticity and genuine love of radio. He had a rare ability to make every broadcast feel personal, and his impact extended throughout our community.
