Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Moore said in a Manhattan Federal Court papers.<\/p>\n<p>Even though two other <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/08\/20\/sports\/jannik-sinner-tests-positive-for-a-steroid-twice-avoids-ban-over-cut-finger-excuse\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">players tested positive<\/a> in Bogota on the same tour at the same time, Moore, 33, was hit with an immediate ban under the rigid anti-doping framework upheld by the Court Arbitration for Sport (CAS).<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2019\/04\/10\/slumping-tennis-player-tara-moore-pulls-off-miraculous-comeback\/?utm=newsbreak&amp;noamp=mobile\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">former British number one doubles player<\/a> was ultimately cleared of wrongdoing by an independent tribunal in December 2023, according to her court papers.<\/p>\n<p>But she was far from out of the woods \u2013 the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) appealed the decision, arguing Moore had not sufficiently proven where the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/02\/17\/sports\/novak-djokovic-majority-of-players-see-favoritism-in-jannik-sinner-doping-ban\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">performance-enhancing drugs<\/a> in her system came from.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Moore, who holds nine singles titles and 18 doubles titles in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) circuit, was ultimately barred in July 2025 from competing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember just having this out of body experience, being like, \u2018What do you mean I failed the doping test?\u2019\u201d Moore a Brit who lives in Indiana, said on a March 2025 episode of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DHEPuVvOROh\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Scuttlebutt Club podcast<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember feeling like something just had collapsed\u2026Suddenly, I was just blacklisted from everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38557598\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/colombian-tennis-player-robert-farah-121825566.jpg\" alt=\"Tennis player Robert Farah sits in front of microphones at a press conference.\" class=\"wp-image-38557598\"  \/>Robert Farah was also accused of doping, but was cleared because the drugs found were attributed to contaminated meat. AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Moore appealed and went to arbitration seeking the hefty payout \u2014 but now she claims the arbitrator tossed her case because they simply adopted CAS\u2019 legal framework, which assumes a player\u2019s guilt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTara Moore is a victim twice over: first of the WTA\u2019s negligence, and then of a fundamentally flawed anti-doping system that presumed she was guilty without any evidence of wrongdoing,\u201d the athlete\u2019s attorney Daniel Weiss told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The association \u201cpossessed concrete, actionable knowledge of a specific and well-documented danger of contaminated meat\u201d in the region, but stayed silent, Moore charged in her legal filing.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tStart your day with all you need to know\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-module__cta\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMorning Report delivers the latest news, videos, photos and more.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tThanks for signing up!\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>Just months before the prohibited substances were discovered in Moore\u2019s system, a top men\u2019s player, Robert Farah, also tested positive in Bogota but was cleared because the governing body responsible for anti-doping acknowledged that the meat was contaminated, she alleged.<\/p>\n<p>But the WTA Tour\u2019s official fact sheet did not include a warning for players not to consume local meat, like the non-profit organization had previously done, Moore claimed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, Moore wants to hold the WTA accountable for \u201cthe negligence that ruined her career,\u201d her attorney said.
