Rebecca Gayheart has emerged for the first time since husband Eric Dane\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

The actress was pictured wrapped in a beige trench coat while leaving the Los Angeles home the \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy\u201d star had been living in<\/a> prior to his death on Thursday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gayheart also wore a pair of glasses, pulling her hair into an updo during the somber outing. She carried a black leather handbag while exiting the property on Friday.<\/p>\n

The \u201cEuphoria\u201d actor died on Thursday at the age of 53, following a battle with ALS.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS,\u201d a family statement to People read.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement continued in part, \u201cThroughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly\u00a0remembered always,\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cBrilliant Minds\u201d actor divulged his diagnosis\u00a0<\/a>with the devastating condition in April 2025 \u2014 just weeks after he and Gayheart, 54,\u00a0called off their divorce<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He told People at the time that he was \u201cgrateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n

The longtime couple tied the knot in 2004 and welcomed daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14, before Gayheart filed for divorce in 2018<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gayheart called off the divorce amid Dane\u2019s ALS diagnosis last year, later detailing her \u201csuper complicated\u201d role<\/a> in Dane\u2019s life \u2014 and explaining that she was committed to \u201cshow[ing] up\u201d for Dane and being a \u201crole model\u201d for their teen daughters.<\/p>\n

\u201c[I tell them], \u2018No matter what, he is our family and he is your father,\u2019\u201d she said during an appearance on the\u00a0\u201cBroad Ideas\u201d podcast in November 2025.<\/p>\n

Gayheart explained that she wanted \u201cto make sure I provide them with the opportunity to spend time with him, so they don\u2019t ever look back [and wish they did more].\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress \u2014 who was romantically linked to Peter Morton<\/a> prior to Dane\u2019s death \u2014 was seen out with her husband last year for a family outing <\/a>amid his health battle.<\/p>\n

Dane, meanwhile,\u00a0dated Janell Shirtcliff <\/a>as the family navigated the debilitating reality of ALS.<\/p>\n

The actor blamed himself for his split <\/a>from Gayheart during a pre-recorded interview on Netflix\u2019s\u00a0\u201cFamous Last Words: Eric Dane.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Rebecca was more willing to show up and do her part than I was,\u201d he told Brad Falchuk in the footage, which was released following his death.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have that gene that just makes you wanna keep going regardless of what happens,\u201d he continued. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018If there\u2019s a hole in the boat, don\u2019t try to patch the hole. Scuttle the damn thing and find a new one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dane also called his model wife a \u201cfighter.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe still love each other deeply,\u201d he said. \u201cI just think we don\u2019t wanna live with each other. But there\u2019s a lot of love there.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Gayheart took to Instagram Stories to share a series of intimate photos<\/a> from their lives together with their daughters.<\/p>\n

She also\u00a0re-shared a link to a fundraiser set up by friends<\/a> in the hours following Dane\u2019s passing.
