iPhone 18 Pro is still well over half a year away<\/a>. Nonetheless, we have some interesting new color rumors for the upcoming new iPhone model, and Apple may finally be doing something users have wanted for ages \u2013 a red \u2018Pro\u2019 iPhone. iPhone Fold, on the other hand, might not have any flashy color choices.<\/p>\n

iPhone 18 Pro in red<\/p>\n

According to Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman<\/a>, Apple is now considering a new \u2018deep red\u2019 color option for the iPhone 18 Pro<\/a>. With iPhone 17 Pro, Apple transitioned to an all aluminum unibody, giving the company far more flexibility for what colors it can use on the \u2018Pro\u2019 iPhone.<\/p>\n

Gurman notes that the current Cosmic Orange color is extremely popular, especially in China \u2013 so even though red and orange are \u2018a little too close on the color wheel,\u2019 Apple might end up keeping both colors:<\/p>\n

Given the success of orange, I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if the company keeps that option\u00a0around and just\u00a0adds the red as an additional choice. But red and orange might be a little too close on the color wheel to have both. We\u2019ll see how this plays out exactly, but I can at least tell you that, as of now, red is the new flagship color in testing for the next iPhone Pros.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re someone who\u2019s both always wanted a red iPhone Pro and has lamented the fact that Apple stopped making red iPhones with the iPhone 14 <\/a>back in 2022 \u2013 then you should be very excited. Gurman also comments on the other color rumors<\/a> of purple and brown, but states that they\u2019re probably just \u2018variants of the same red idea.\u2019<\/p>\n

New iPhone Fold colors<\/p>\n

Gurman also comments on the color options of the upcoming iPhone Fold<\/a>. He reports that Apple is going to \u2018stay away\u2019 from fun colors:<\/p>\n

That would mean going back to the options\u00a0Apple used during the early days of the iPhone: some sort of dark gray or black and a variation of a white or light silver. We\u2019re on track to see how this all comes together in September.<\/p>\n

In all likelihood, this is because this is Apple\u2019s very first time manufacturing such a product, and making less colors simplifies the manufacturing process. We saw a similar thing play out with iPhone X, when it only came in two colors versus six on the iPhone 7.<\/p>\n
