Andrew Mountbatten Windsor could face prison<\/a> time if charged and convicted \u2014 and according to Rob Shuter, brother King Charles III wouldn\u2019t actually mind.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Andrew walks, he\u2019ll feel vindicated and untouchable,\u201d one insider told Shuter of the 66-year-old, who was arrested on Thursday, February 19, on suspicion of misconduct in public office after being accused of sharing confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein related to his role as a trade envoy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat makes him more emboldened, more reckless, and far more dangerous to the institution,\u201d the insider continued in a story posted on Shuter\u2019s Naughty But Nice Substack<\/a> on Monday, February 23.<\/p>\n

But the king, 77, and other royals \u201cquietly hope\u201d the former prince, who has long denied any wrongdoing in connection to the late convicted sex offender, will actually have to face consequences, sources told Shuter.<\/p>\n

Putting Andrew behind bars would give Charles \u201cthe cover to finish the slimming-down he\u2019s always wanted\u201d and cut off<\/a> his brother completely, a second insider pointed out.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrison contains the chaos,\u201d a palace source agreed. \u201cIt forces a hard stop. The family can regroup without constantly bracing for the next humiliation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one wants to say it publicly,\u201d a senior royal watcher told Shuter. \u201cBut Andrew will always embarrass them. He won\u2019t change. Jail removes the oxygen \u2014 and the obligation to bankroll him.\u201d<\/p>\n
