The other 31 NHL teams will have 24 hours to claim Milano. If they don\u2019t, the Caps can send him to the AHL\u2019s Hershey Bears.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">As the Capitals indicated earlier, Sonny Milano is on waivers<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FriedgeHNIC\/status\/2026734638555615509?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">February 25, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Milano, an oft-healthy scratch, has played in 31 games this season for the Capitals, recording eight points (4g, 4a). The 29-year-old winger came into this past fall\u2019s training camp without being assured a spot on the club\u2019s final roster, having played in just three games last year due to injury.<\/p>\n<p>When he originally signed with the Capitals in 2022, Milano had a stint with the Bears in the AHL, notching three points (2g, 1a) in five games. The veteran forward, currently signed at a $1.9 million cap hit, is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in the summer.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sonny Milano will go on waivers this afternoon, per the Capitals, and has been designated as non-roster.
