\n\tEXCLUSIVE: Oscar winner Tom McCarthy<\/a> (Spotlight) has set cast for his upcoming feature drama co-financed by Sony Classics. <\/p>\n

\n\tStarring in the film will be Golden Globe nominee Paul Rudd<\/a> (Ant-Man), Golden Globe\u00a0winner Evan Peters<\/a> (American Horror Story),\u00a0Oscar nominees Amy Ryan\u00a0(Birdman) and Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), Emmy winners\u00a0John Turturro\u00a0(Severance) and\u00a0Tatiana Maslany<\/a> (Orphan Black), and\u00a0Actor Award\u00a0nominee\u00a0Jason Clarke\u00a0(Zero Dark Thirty). <\/p>\n

\n\tFilming begins next month on the untitled project, which is described as a \u201cdarkly comic drama\u201d. SPC will release domestically.<\/p>\n

\n\tBased on Nathaniel Rich\u2019s book\u00a0Losing Earth, the true story is \u201cset at a beachside resort in Florida in 1980, when twenty experts gather for a weekend conference on a global issue that is starting to gain traction: the effects of Co2 emissions on the climate. The group of scientists, activists, and policymakers have one simple mandate from Congress \u2014 write a statement about what to do. Easier said than done.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAdapted by\u00a0Thomas\u00a0Bidegan, No\u00e9 Debr\u00e9, and McCarthy, the film is dedicated to the late Steve Golin. <\/p>\n

\n\tMatt Damon and Ben Affleck are among exec producers. Department heads include\u00a0director of photography\u00a0Stuart Dryburgh\u00a0(The Piano), production designer John Goldsmith (A Most Violent Year), costume designer\u00a0Melissa Toth (Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind), editor\u00a0Jane Rizzo (Succession), and casting director\u00a0Allison Estrin (Billions).\u00a0<\/p>\n
