As always, we here at LWOT predict all the action across all the tournaments, but which players do you think will win?

WTA Merida Day 4 Predictions
Jessica Bouzas Maneiro vs Magdalena Frech

Head-to-head: Frech 2-1 Bouzas Maneiro

Bouzas Maneiro easily defeated Heather Watson in the opening round, while Frech was pushed harder by Maria Timofeeva. Both players will try to bring their respective strengths into play. Bouzas Maneiro’s forehand is more explosive, but the Pole possesses a better backhand. On a slow hardcourt, Frech is slightly more likely to stay solid and grind out a victory.
Prediction: Frech in 3

Ann Li vs Zeynep Sonmez

Head-to-head: Sonmez 1-0 Li

This pair’s only previous meeting occurred at the 2024 edition in Merida. Sonmez easily won that contest without needing to be near her best. Li has significantly developed as a player since, enjoying a career-best season in 2025. Despite that improvement and her being higher-ranked than Sonmez, the Turkish player is backed to win. She dropped only two games in the opening round, and the conditions favor her slightly more than they do Li.
Prediction: Sonmez in 3

Emma Navarro vs Shuai Zhang

Head-to-head: Zhang 2-0 Navarro

Navarro’s poor recent form and her head-to-head against Zhang make this a challenging matchup for the 2024 US Open semifinalist. Both their previous matches were in China, Zhang’s home country. The conditions in those events were quicker than in Merida. That provides the athletic and physically strong Navarro with a better opportunity to wear Zhang down. A third victory for the veteran is not out of the question, but Navarro is predicted to triumph.
Prediction: Navarro in 3

Jasmine Paolini vs Priscilla Hon

Head-to-head: First meeting

Paolini has lost her last three matches in straight sets. Finding a response before the Sunshine Double begins feels important. Although Hon is talented, this matchup offers Paolini an ideal opportunity to find form. Hon was on a four-match losing streak before her campaign in Merida. Qualifying victories and a narrow victory against Renata Zarazua do not convince me that she will beat the Italian.
Prediction: Paolini in 2

Main Photo Credit: Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

The remaining WTA Merida Tound of 16 matches will be completed on Day 4. 2024 Wimbledon runner-up Jasmine…

[72
67264,67265,16333,193790,51732,127815,108320,108321,25713,93801,110500,225253,125233,125234,99,428,9985,9986,223772,108326,108327
0":"post-491398","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tennis","8":"tag-ann-li","9":"tag-ann-li-predictions","10":"tag-emma-navarro","11":"tag-emma-navarro-predictions","12":"tag-jasmine-paolini","13":"tag-jasmine-paolini-predictions","14":"tag-jessica-bouzas-maneiro","15":"tag-jessica-bouzas-maneiro-predictions","16":"tag-magdalena-frech","17":"tag-magdalena-frech-predictions","18":"tag-priscilla-hon","19":"tag-priscilla-hon-predictions","20":"tag-shuai-zhang","21":"tag-shuai-zhang-predictions","22":"tag-sports","23":"tag-tennis","24":"tag-tennis-picks","25":"tag-tennis-predictions","26":"tag-wta-merida-predictions","27":"tag-zeynep-sonmez","28":"tag-zeynep-sonmez-predictions
["GET
