\n\tJonathan Majors<\/a> is getting started on a new feature as he continues to pursue projects outside of the studio system following his 2023 conviction for assault and harassment<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tMajors is set to star in writer-director Kyle Rankin\u2019s action movie that hails from Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend. The title and plot details have not yet been shared for the film that launched production this week in South Carolina and has been described as being in the vein of Red Dawn and Toy Soldiers. <\/p>\n

\n\tProducers include Ben Shapiro<\/a> for Daily Wire and Dallas Sonnier for Bonfire Legend. Travis Mills, Lillian Campbell and Sydney Aucreman are also producing. The two production companies previously collaborated with Rankin on his 2020 film Run Hide Fight that starred Isabel May and Thomas Jane and premiered at the Venice Film Festival. <\/p>\n

\n\tShapiro took to social media Thursday to react to the news about the film with his post<\/a>, \u201cYou\u2019re not going to BELIEVE what we\u2019re doing.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAfter his conviction that stemmed from an incident with ex-partner Grace Jabbari, Majors was dropped by Marvel as villain Kang the Conqueror and also let go from the starring role of Dennis Rodman in Lionsgate\u2019s 48 Hours in Vegas<\/a> ahead of production. The actor has yet to book studio work since then but did land a role in the indie film Merciless<\/a> from director Martin Villeneuve.<\/p>\n

\n\tMajors starred in the bodybuilding drama Magazine Dreams, which was a sensation at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Searchlight acquired the title in a bidding war but dropped the film the next year following the star\u2019s conviction, and Briarcliff Entertainment ultimately released it in 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring an interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> for a cover story timed to Magazine Dreams\u2019 release, Majors said he had been reading scripts and taking meetings in hopes of resuming his acting career: \u201cDo I hope to make more movies? Absolutely. That is my intention. But that\u2019s not my call. I don\u2019t have a studio. And I\u2019ve given up control.\u201d <\/p>\n
