Remember the days when you would get a\u00a0blood draw\u00a0appointment\u00a0and a\u00a0separate\u00a0appointment for a primary care\u00a0visit?\u00a0That\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0happen anymore.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
No appointment is necessary for lab work; walk-ins are welcome. If you have a\u00a0primary care\u00a0appointment at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center,\u00a0come at least an\u00a0hour early to have your blood drawn at the Blood\u00a0Draw Clinic\u00a0located\u00a0in basement, then make your way to your appointment with time to spare.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
By the time you get to your appointment,\u00a0you\u00a0may\u00a0see your lab results on your My\u00a0HealtheVet app and your\u00a0provider will be able to go over what those lab results mean\u00a0at your appointment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
If\u00a0you’re\u00a0running\u00a0late\u00a0and\u00a0can’t\u00a0complete\u00a0your lab work\u00a0at least\u00a030 minutes\u00a0before\u00a0your appointment, no worries.\u00a0Go to your appointment on time, and\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0be able to get your lab\u00a0work\u00a0done after your appointment. As previously mentioned,\u00a0the\u00a0results will be\u00a0sent to you via\u00a0My\u00a0HealtheVet\u00a0and\u00a0you\u2019ll\u00a0get a letter in the mail.\u00a0If you have questions\u00a0about your\u00a0lab\u00a0results,\u00a0just\u00a0message your patient-aligned care team directly\u00a0by logging\u00a0into\u00a0My HealtheVet\u00a0on VA.gov.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
If you receive care at a Community Based Outpatient Clinic, you will have your lab draw completed after your primary care visit unless you have coordinated a scheduled lab with your care team.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If you are not familiar with My HealtheVet at all,\u00a0and want\u00a0face-to-face\u00a0help,\u00a0the next time you are at the medical center\u00a0visit the Virtual Health Resource Center in the Flag Atrium.\u00a0A Volunteer will help you setup the app on your phone so you can have\u00a0access to your medical records, test results, and\u00a0have the ability to\u00a0contact your care teams directly.\u00a0<\/p>\n
