Have the Raiders placed Maxx Crosby<\/a> on the trade block? <\/p>\n

The messaging this week from the GM and head coach was that the Raiders want Crosby back next year (and that\u2019s probably true), but according to NBC Sports\u2019 Mike Florio, the Raiders have named a price for their All Pro defender.<\/p>\n

\u201cWill the Raiders trade defensive end Maxx Crosby? Yes, if they get what they want for him,\u201d Florio reported this week at Pro Football Talk<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cPer a league source, the Raiders are looking for two first-round picks and a player for the 28-year-old edge rusher. That\u2019s what the Cowboys got for Micah Parsons in August, with the player being defensive lineman Kenny Clark. The quality of player the Raiders want wasn\u2019t specified. Presumably, it\u2019s a starting-caliber contributor.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dAnother factor surely will be the position of the first-round pick. Two ones from a perennial playoff team are obviously not the same as two first-rounders from a chronic also-ran. Still, it shows that there\u2019s a price. That Crosby isn\u2019t untradeable. That a deal will happen if a team makes an offer the Raiders will accept.\u201d<\/p>\n

For what it\u2019s worth, Florio isn\u2019t the first to suggest the Raiders would take two first-round picks and a player for Crosby. <\/p>\n

ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter hinted at the cost<\/a> last week. <\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter<\/a> said many around the league believe Crosby is available based on conversations with the decision makers in Las Vegas. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe mood around the entire NFL is [that] Maxx is available,\u201d Carpenter said on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, the Raiders are going to say [they] expect him back\u2026 he\u2019s a great player. I expect John Spytek to say [he\u2019ll be back]. I think John Spytek does want him back. I expect Klint Kubiak to say that. I don\u2019t think the issues are with Klint. I don\u2019t even really think they are with [Spytek] if you want me to be blunt with you, [but] I\u2019m not going to get into any more details.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I am the Raiders, I am doing everything possible to fix this. This is Hondo Carpenter\u2019s opinion. There\u2019s only two people who can fix this. Maxx Crosby and Tom Brady. I don\u2019t think an agent can fix it. I don\u2019t think Mark Davis can. Mark and Maxx are great. That\u2019s what I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

There is still time for the Raiders and Crosby to come together, but it seems like the sides have a lot to sort out if that\u2019s going to happen. <\/p>\n

According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, Crosby could be dealt sooner than later, and it could happen as soon as next week.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say it is fair to assume that the Raiders are getting many calls about Maxx Crosby,\u201d Pelissero said on the\u00a0Rich Eisen Show<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou heard what John Spytek said in this room. He expects Maxx to be back, great relationship, texting and talking. We have not heard from Maxx Crosby since that session. Maxx has many ways on social media and podcasts to potentially respond.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say the Raiders don\u2019t need to make calls. They will get calls on Maxx Crosby. Is there a world where Maxx Crosby gets traded in the next 7 to 10 days? I believe there is,\u201d Pelissero continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not there yet in terms of a deal actually getting done, but almost every player in the NFL has a price\u2026 To me, [the Crosby situation] tracks toward push this as far as you can, maximize your leverage by saying we\u2019re going to keep the guy here, see what type of calls you get. I\u2019m not aware of the Raiders calling anyone. I do believe that they are getting calls, and I do believe there\u2019s a possibility of Maxx Crosby being traded sometime between now and the start of the league year.\u201d<\/p>\n
