\n\tCatherine O\u2019Hara was posthumously honored Sunday at SAG-AFTRA\u2019s Actor Awards<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tO\u2019Hara, who died in January at 71 after a brief illness<\/a>, won for outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series for Apple TV\u2019s \u201cThe Studio<\/a>.\u201d She also won as part of \u201cThe Studio\u201d cast in the outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series category.<\/p>\n

\n\tO\u2019Hara received a standing ovation as her \u201cThe Studio\u201d co-star, Seth Rogen, walked onstage to accept the award on her behalf. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI know she would have been honored to receive this award from her fellow performers, who I know she respected so much \u2014 she was such big fans of all of yours,\u201d Rogen said. \u201cI obviously you know, have been reflecting on the time I was fortunate enough to spend with her, working with her, and something that I\u2019ve just been marveling at over the last few weeks was really her ability to be generous and kind and gracious, while never ever minimizing her own talents and her own ability to contribute to the work that we were doing. She knew she could destroy, and she wanted to destroy every day on set. And I haven\u2019t said this to the other actors, because I didn\u2019t want them to get ideas, but pretty much, every evening before she had a shooting day on our show, she would email me and Evan [Goldberg], an email that always was pretty similar, and said, \u2018Hello, I hope you\u2019ll consider the following.\u2019 And then there would be a completely rewritten version of the scene she was in.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tRogen continued, \u201cAnd literally, 100% of the time, it made not just her character better, but it made the scene better and the entire show better as a whole. And she really showed that you can be a genius and be kind, and one of those things does not have to come at the expense of the other in any way, shape or form.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tHer nomination was for playing former studio chief-turned-producer Patty Leigh on \u201cThe Studio.\u201d She was nominated alongside her \u201cStudio\u201d co-star Kathryn Hahn (as Maya Mason), as well as Jenna Ortega (Wednesday Addams on \u201cWednesday\u201d), Jean Smart (Deborah Vance on \u201cHacks\u201d) and Kristen Wiig (Maxine Simmons on \u201cPalm Royale\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring Rogen\u2019s tribute to O\u2019Hara, the camera panned to a teary-eyed Ortega, who worked with the late actress on Tim Burton\u2019s \u201cBeetlejuice Beetlejuice.\u201d Hahn was also visibly emotional upon hearing O\u2019Hara\u2019s name. <\/p>\n

\n\tAt the end of Rogen\u2019s speech, he said, \u201cI guess I\u2019ll just leave you with this. If you have people in your lives that don\u2019t know her work \u2014 if they\u2019re kids in your lives, or just people who are out of touch or stupid or something, just show them O\u2019Hara dancing to Harry Belafonte in \u2018Beetlejuice.\u2019 Show them O\u2019Hara hurting her knee in \u2018Best in Show\u2019 and doing that amazing thing where she hobbles around, and tell the people as they are laughing, that that\u2019s Catherine O\u2019Hara \u2014 and we were lucky that we got to live in a world where she so generally shared her talents with us.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAlong with the Actor Award, O\u2019Hara received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for her role on \u201cThe Studio.\u201d She previously won Actor Awards (then known as the SAG Awards<\/a>) in 2021 for actress in a comedy series and as part of the comedy series ensemble, both for \u201cSchitt\u2019s Creek.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tO\u2019Hara, of course, was a constant, beloved presence in film and television for five decades, starting with \u201cSCTV\u201d and later in films such as \u201cBeetlejuice,\u201d \u201cHome Alone\u201d and Christopher Guest mockumentaries like \u201cBest in Show,\u201d \u201cFor Your Consideration,\u201d \u201cWaiting for Guffman\u201d and \u201cA Mighty Wind.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe star also received an Actor Award nom in 2011 in the outstanding female actor in a miniseries or TV movie category, for \u201cTemple Grandin.\u201d Her role as Moira Rose on \u201cSchitt\u2019s Creek,\u201d of course, brought her more recognition and awards in recent years. Last year, besides her Emmy nom for \u201cThe Studio,\u201d O\u2019Hara was also recognized at the Emmys with a guest drama actress nod for her part in \u201cThe Last of Us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tO\u2019Hara\u2019s death hit hard in Hollywood, where friends and fans shared tributes to the star<\/a>: \u201cMama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you but I had so much more to say,\u201d \u201cHome Alone\u201d star Macaulay Culkin\u00a0wrote on Instagram<\/a>. \u201cI love you. I\u2019ll see you later.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cReally don\u2019t know what to say\u2026 I told O\u2019Hara when I first met her I thought she was the funniest person I\u2019d ever had the pleasure of watching on screen. \u2018Home Alone\u2019 was the movie that made me want to make movies,\u201d Rogen\u00a0wrote<\/a>\u00a0on Instagram.<\/p>\n
