Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez endured a poor display at Arsenal and Gary Neville did not hold back in his criticism of the Gunners’ winning goal\"Jurrien<\/p>\n

Gary Neville has criticised Robert Sanchez’s role in Arsenal’s second goal against Chelsea <\/a>after Jurrien Timber diverted Declan Rice’s corner in at the back post.<\/p>\n

The Gunners had already scored from a corner in the first half when William Saliba headed in from close range.<\/p>\n

Chelsea then equalised through their own set-piece after Piero Hincapie put the ball into his own net from Reece James’ corner.<\/a><\/p>\n

However, in the second half, with the Blues in control of the game, Arsenal went ahead again with another set-piece goal. Rice’s delivery to the back post was met by Timber, despite complaints from the Chelsea players.<\/p>\n

Sanchez and his defenders protested to referee Darren England whilst the hosts celebrated. However, replays showed that the goalkeeper made a mistake with his positioning, which allowed Timber to convert.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Sky Sports’ coverage, Neville pointed the finger at Sanchez and slammed his thinking.<\/p>\n

After the goal went in, the former Manchester United defender asked if he was fouled, before then seeing the incident again.<\/p>\n

“Chelsea are asking for VAR but Sanchez is all over the place in my view,” he said. “There’s not a chance of a foul. It’s really poor goalkeeping.”<\/p>\n

Neville also added: “Sanchez has had a really poor day. He got the flight of the ball wrong.”<\/p>\n

The Spaniard was caught out a number of times with the ball at his feet, nearly giving Arsenal an early goal after failing to clear his lines.<\/p>\n

Things got worse for Chelsea shortly after going behind when Pedro Neto was sent off. The winger was booked in the aftermath of Timber’s goal for dissent, before giving England no choice but to show him a second for a reckless challenge on Gabriel Martinelli.<\/p>\n

As Arsenal broke on the counter-attack, Neto tracked the Brazilian back before lunging into a challenge. Rosenior’s men failed to create a final opportunity to miss the opportunity to move up to fifth in the table.<\/p>\n
