\n\tAfter the 2026 Actor Awards<\/a> named Catherine O\u2019Hara<\/a> as best actress in a comedy series for her role in The Studio<\/a>, show co-creator, Seth Rogen<\/a>, took to the stage to accept on her behalf.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was asked to assume the honor of accepting this award on O\u2019Hara\u2019s behalf. I know she would have been honored to receive this award from her fellow performers who I know she respected so much. She was such a big fan of all of yours,\u201d Rogen said to the crowd.<\/p>\n

\n\tRogen noted that he\u2019s been reflecting on his time working with her, since she died several weeks ago. \u201cSomething that I\u2019ve just been marveling at over the last few weeks was really her ability to be generous and kind and gracious while never ever minimizing her own talents and her own ability to contribute to the work that we were doing,\u201d he said. \u201cShe knew she could destroy, and she wanted to destroy every day on set.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued to share a story from their time together. In The Studio, O\u2019Hara portrayed movie executive Patty Leigh. \u201cI haven\u2019t said this to the other actors, because I don\u2019t want them to get ideas, but pretty much every evening before she had a shooting day on our show, she would email me and Evan [Goldberg] an email that always was pretty similar. It said, \u2018Hello, I hope you\u2019ll consider the following,\u2019 and then there would be a completely rewritten version of the scene,\u201d he said with a laugh. \u201c100 percent of the time, it made not just her character better, but it made the scene better and the entire show better as a whole. And she really showed that you can be a genius and be kind, and one of those things does not have to come at the expense of the other in any way shape or form.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRogen concluded, \u201cI\u2019ll just leave you with this: If you have people in your lives that don\u2019t know her work, if there are kids in your lives or just people who are out of touch or stupid or something. Just show them O\u2019Hara dancing to Harry Belafonte in Beetlejuice, show them O\u2019Hara hurting her knee in Best in Show and doing that amazing thing where she hobbles around, and tell the people, as they\u2019re laughing, that that\u2019s Catherine O\u2019Hara. And we were lucky that we got to live in a world where she so generally shared her talents with us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Rogen was delivering his speech, Jenna Ortega who starred alongside O\u2019Hara in 2024\u2019s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, was seen wiping away tears. <\/p>\n

\n\tO\u2019Hara died on Jan. 30<\/a> at the age of 71 at her home in Los Angeles from pulmonary embolism. She also had rectal cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing the news of her death, The Studio\u00a0cast and crew shared a statement with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, \u201cWe are at a loss for words at the passing of our friend Catherine O\u2019Hara. She was a hero to all of us, and we pinched ourselves every day that we got to work with her on\u00a0The Studio. She was somehow classy, warm and hilarious all at the same time. We\u2019re unbelievably saddened she is gone and send our deepest sympathy to Bo and all her family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Studio team also bowed out<\/a> of attending an Apple TV press day panel on Feb. 3.<\/p>\n

\n\tLater on Sunday night, the series also won for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series. The castmembers that received the award included Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn, O\u2019Hara, Rogen and Chase Sui Wonders.<\/p>\n

\n\tSeason two of The Studio is currently in production. <\/p>\n
