{"id":499609,"date":"2026-03-02T17:06:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T17:06:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/499609\/"},"modified":"2026-03-02T17:06:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T17:06:08","slug":"arsenal-women-reliant-on-parent-clubs-11-9m-input-despite-revenue-rise-arsenal-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/499609\/","title":{"rendered":"Arsenal Women \u2018reliant\u2019 on parent club\u2019s \u00a311.9m input despite revenue rise | Arsenal Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Arsenal Women experienced huge growth in commercial and matchday revenue last season, but remain reliant on funds from the parent club, their latest accounts show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">In the year to 31 May 2025, during which Arsenal won the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2025\/may\/24\/arsenal-grab-womens-champions-league-final-glory-against-barcelona\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Women\u2019s Champions League<\/a> and finished second in the Women\u2019s Super League, the club nearly trebled their commercial revenue and their matchday revenue increased by 35% to almost \u00a36m, bringing a club record profit of \u00a322,000 after tax.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">However, \u00a311.9m of \u201cgroup income\u201d from the parent company underpins the women\u2019s team\u2019s revenue and remains by far the largest income source. The accounts state: \u201cAt this stage of the development of the women\u2019s game in England, the club is reliant on the backing of Arsenal Football Club Limited which contributes a support fee to supplement the company\u2019s own revenues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cThe club continues to have the unwavering support and commitment of both its immediate parent, Arsenal Football Club Limited, and its ultimate parent company, KSE UK Inc. This has allowed the club to invest strongly in its playing squad at a time when the women\u2019s game is seeing a significant growth in interest and support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The women\u2019s club revenue was \u00a321.5m, up from \u00a315m, and they had operating expenses \u00a321.6m, up from \u00a315.4m. A \u00a3100,000 profit was made from the disposal of player registrations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Wages totalled \u00a39.9m before social security and pensions costs, rising by about 22% from the previous season. Thanks largely to playing nine of 11 home WSL matches at Emirates Stadium, with an average crowd of 34,110, matchday revenue rose to \u00a35.9m, up 35% from the previous season\u2019s \u00a34.4m. Those numbers are expected to rise this season with all home league games being played at the Emirates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Broadcast revenue also increased to just over \u00a32m, up from \u00a3956,000, including \u00a31.4m from the Champions League campaign. Domestic broadcast revenue remains a small part of the club\u2019s income. Commercial revenue soared from \u00a3649,000 in 2023-24 to \u00a31.8m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2026\/jan\/19\/arsenal-overtake-chelsea-top-wsl-dominated-football-rich-list\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deloitte revealed in January<\/a> that Arsenal\u2019s matchday revenue was nearly twice that of any other European women\u2019s side. By far the largest income was from the parent company, up from \u00a39.3m the year before.
