Winter weather in Mass. \u2013 NBC Boston"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcboston.com\/weather\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">We\u2019re off to a sunny, cold start to this work week.<\/a>\u00a0High temperatures will only reach the mid to upper 20 this afternoon.\u00a0Overnight lows will sink into the teens.<\/p>\n<p>Set your alarm for tomorrow morning\u2019s total lunar eclipse!\u00a0A lunar eclipse occurs when Earth is positioned between the sun and the full moon, with Earth casting its shadow over the moon.\u00a0In this case, the eclipse will turn the moon blood red during the predawn hours tomorrow. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the partial eclipse will begin at 4:50 a.m.\u00a0The eclipse will begin totality around 6:04 a.m., with peak totality happening at 6:33 a.m.\u00a0Here in Boston, we\u2019ll be able to see the beginning of totality just before the moon sets, which will happen at 6:17 a.m.\u00a0But get this! The moonset will coincide with sunrise happening around 6:16 a.m., so we\u2019ll have a short window of time to see totality as the moon turns red.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Total-Lunar-Eclipse-Mar-2025.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll also have just a few clouds moving in around this celestial event.\u00a0Still, though, the cloud cover shouldn\u2019t completely block your viewing of the eclipse. Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Cloud-Cover-National.png\" loading=\"lazy\"   alt=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>As we continue moving through Tuesday, though, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcboston.com\/video\/weather\/video-weather\/rain-snow-and-a-big-warmup-in-new-englands-forecast\/3909165\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">let\u2019s prepare for more wintry weather<\/a>. A system will bring some snow to parts of central and eastern Massachusetts by mid-morning Tuesday.\u00a0Later in the afternoon, things could get a bit messy as the snow transitions to sleet and rain as our temperatures warm above freezing, especially around the afternoon drive.\u00a0Some rain and a few snowflakes could linger into early Wednesday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While this is not a major event for our area, some areas communities around 1 inch of snow in central Massachusetts and parts of southern New Hampshire on Tuesday.
