Fabian H\u00fcrzeler\u2019s once-slumping Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a> have won back-to-back games heading into Wednesday\u2019s clash, so the Gunners may be in for another midweek slog. <\/p>\n

Declan Rice picked up an unknown ailment in Sunday\u2019s 2\u20131 victory over Chelsea<\/a>, and had to be substituted with less than 20 minutes remaining. <\/p>\n

Arteta has said his midfielder will be assessed ahead of the trip down south<\/a>, but the Spaniard has already hinted at midweek rotation. Rice might not be risked, even if he\u2019s avoided an injury of note.<\/p>\n

Christian N\u00f8rgaard is thus poised for a rare outing alongside Mart\u00edn Zubimendi in midfield, with Mikel Merino still out after undergoing surgery at the start of the year to resolve a foot injury<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Martin \u00d8degaard was absent again at the weekend due to a minor knee issue<\/a>, but the captain could be back in the traveling squad on Wednesday. Ben White is a doubt with a knock, and Max Dowman\u2019s potential return date hasn\u2019t yet been disclosed.<\/p>\n

CB: Gabriel\u2014Gabriel was back to his best at the weekend, and he\u2019ll next be tasked with taming ex-Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck, who\u2019s scored in back-to-back games.<\/p>\n

LB: Riccardo Calafiori\u2014Piero Hincapi\u00e9 has emerged as Arsenal\u2019s first-choice left back, with Calafiori somewhat cast aside. However, there could be an opportunity for the Italian on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

DM: Mart\u00edn Zubimendi\u2014Zubimendi has been a constant presence in the Gunners\u2019 midfield, and he\u2019ll be tested by a Brighton team that\u2019s capable of producing swashbuckling passing sequences from back to front.<\/p>\n

DM: Christian N\u00f8rgaard\u2014Rice may be fit enough for the matchday squad, but there\u2019s no need to take a risk when Arsenal boast a dependable alternative in N\u00f8rgaard, who\u2019s arguably been underused this season.<\/p>\n

RW: Noni Madueke\u2014Madueke may be recalled after failing to see the field at the weekend. The former Chelsea star had enjoyed an upsurge before Eberechi Eze\u2019s heroics in the second north London derby of the season. <\/p>\n

AM: Bukayo Saka\u2014While Arsenal<\/a> have won back-to-back games with Saka wide right, Arteta shouldn\u2019t completely ditch the idea of Saka playing centrally. LW: Gabriel Martinelli\u2014Leandro Trossard was once again ineffective, and while Martinelli is imperfect, he can at least create something from nothing. There should be space for the Brazilian to exploit behind Brighton\u2019s defense, too.<\/p>\n

ST: Kai Havertz\u2014Havertz was back in action off the bench at the weekend, and Arteta will want to get him back up to speed as soon as possible. <\/p>\n
