\n\tEvil Dead franchise star Bruce Campbell<\/a> revealed on Monday that he\u2019s been diagnosed with cancer. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe beloved self-proclaimed \u201cB-movie actor\u201d took to social media to tell fans he had a condition, which was \u201ctreatable not curable.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a detailed post on X (below), the 67-year-old Spider-Man actor wrote, \u201cHi folks, these days, when someone is having a health<\/a> issue, it\u2019s referred to as an \u2018opportunity,\u2019 so let\u2019s go with that \u2014 I\u2019m having one of those. It\u2019s also called a type of cancer that\u2019s \u2018treatable,\u2019 not \u2018curable.\u2019 I apologize if that\u2019s a shock \u2013 it was to me too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tContinued Campbell: \u201cThe good news is, I\u2019m not gonna go into any more detail. I\u2019m posting this because professionally, a few things will have to change \u2014 appearances and [fan conventions] and work in general need to take a back seat to treatment. My plan is to get as well as I possibly can over the summer so that I can tour with my new movie Ernie & Emma this fall.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s about it,\u201d he concluded. \u201cI\u2019m not trying to enlist sympathy \u2014 or advice \u2014 I just want to get ahead of this information in case false information gets out (which it will). Fear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-bitch and I have great support, so I expect to be around a while. As always, you\u2019re the greatest fans in the world and I hope to see you soon!\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tCampbell\u2019s breakout role was in Sam Raimi\u2019s\u00a01981\u2019s cult classic\u00a0The Evil Dead\u00a0and its\u00a0popular sequels, 1987\u2019s\u00a0Evil Dead II\u00a0and 1993\u2019s\u00a0Army of Darkness. He reprised his role as Ash Williams in the series spin-off\u00a0Ash vs Evil Dead. He\u2019s also had cameos in Raimi\u2019s\u00a0Spider-Man\u00a0trilogy and starred in 2002\u2019s\u00a0Bubba Ho-tep.<\/p>\n
