\n\tTodd Meadows<\/a>, a crewmember on the Aleutian Lady on Discovery Channel<\/a> series The Deadliest Catch<\/a>, died while filming the show. He was 25.<\/p>\n

\n\tMeadows died on Feb. 25; the boat\u2019s captain, Rick Shelford, announced his passing on Monday, March 2, on Facebook. Shelford called Meadows\u2019 death \u201cthe most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady on the Bering Sea.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe lost our brother, Todd Meadows<\/a>,\u201d Shelford wrote. \u201cTodd was the newest member of our crew, he quickly became family. His love for fishing and his strong work ethic earned everyone\u2019s respect right away. His smile was contagious, and the sound of his laughter coming up the wheelhouse stairs or over the deck hailer is something we will carry with us always.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTodd\u2019s love for his children, his family, and his life was evident in everything he did. He worked hard, loved deeply, and brought joy to those around him,\u201d the post continued. \u201cRight now, our hearts are broken in a way that words can\u2019t fully express.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA fundraiser<\/a> has been set up in Meadows\u2019 name. The GoFundMe page states that Meadows died while \u201ccrabbing out on Alaskan waters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCaptain Shelford asked for the public to \u201clift Todd\u2019s children and family in prayer\u201d and to \u201ckeep them in your thoughts as they face the days ahead without him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMeadows leaves behind three sons.<\/p>\n

\n\tA Discovery Channel spokesperson confirmed the sad news to The Hollywood Reporter.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Todd Meadows,\u201d the spokesperson said in a statement shared with THR. \u201cThis is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with his loved ones, his crewmates, and the entire fishing community during this incredibly difficult time.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTodd will forever be part of this boat, this crew, and this brotherhood,\u201d Shelford\u2019s social media tribute ends. \u201cThough we lost him far too soon, his legacy will live on through his children and in every memory we carry of him. Rest easy brother, till we meet again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDeadliest Catch is produced by Fremantle\u2019s Original Productions. It follows numerous vessels on the very dangerous Bering Sea chasing hauls of Alaskan king crab. Deadliest Catch unfortunately lives up to its name: Meadows is by no means the first death of a castmember while doing the job. If the sea doesn\u2019t get you, the lifestyle so often does.<\/p>\n
