ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) \u2014 On Wednesday, March 4, Mission Health CEO and president<\/a> Greg Lowe <\/a>announced the removal of the \u201cimmediate jeopardy\u201d status for Mission Hospital in Asheville.<\/p>\n

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services confirmed the status removal following a survey that ended on Feb. 13, after CMS approved the hospital\u2019s Enhanced Plan of Correction on Jan. 29, Lowe said.<\/p>\n

The now dropped \u201cimmediate jeopardy\u201d status for Mission Hospital was designated by CMS for the third time within two years, as News 13 previously reported<\/a> in January.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince that time, we have been working diligently to strengthen our patient safety and quality programs,\u201d Lowe said in a March 4 press release. \u201cThis work has included collaboration with experienced healthcare and quality consultants, as well as focused internal efforts to ensure meaningful and sustainable improvements.\u201d<\/p>\n
