Because of your hard work I was able to live out my dreams, thank you!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u200b\u200bBouchard had a memorable career, becoming the first Canadian-born player representing Canada to reach a Grand Slam singles final and the first Canadian to rank in the WTA\u2019s top 5.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She reached the semifinals in the 2014 Australian Open and the French Open and made it to the final at Wimbledon that year, where she lost to Petra Kvitova.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith her standout achievements on court and engagement with fans, Genie has inspired a generation of young Canadians and helped grow the popularity of tennis around the world. David Kirouac-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>Before her final match on Wednesday, actor and star of the hit CBS sitcom \u201cBig Bang Theory\u201d Jim Parsons <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DMqgxoTvIdv\/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">wrote a heartfelt tribute to \u200b\u200bBouchard<\/a>, recalling the wild ride he experienced following her run at Wimbledon in 2014.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Parsons recalled how he and his husband, Todd Spiewak, were invited to watch Bouchard play after they were introduced to each other by their managers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After schedules were sorted, Parsons and Spiewak flew to London to watch the Canadian star make it all the way to the final round.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"36695408\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Eugenine-Bouchard-2.jpg\" alt=\"Eugenie Bouchard gets emotional during her retirement ceremony on July 30, 2025.\" class=\"wp-image-36695408\"  \/>Eugenie Bouchard gets emotional during her retirement ceremony on July 30, 2025.
