{"id":505091,"date":"2026-03-05T10:54:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T10:54:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/505091\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T10:54:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T10:54:11","slug":"iranian-drones-strike-azerbaijans-nakhchivan-international-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/505091\/","title":{"rendered":"Iranian drones strike Azerbaijan&#8217;s Nakhchivan international airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At least two people were injured after Iranian drones targeted the passenger terminal of Azerbaijan&#8217;s Nakhchivan International Airport on Thursday, authorities told Euronews.<\/p>\n<p>          <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-ad__placeholder__logo\" src=\"https:\/\/static.euronews.com\/website\/images\/logos\/logo-euronews-stacked-outlined-72x72-grey-9.svg\" width=\"72\" height=\"72\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\n          ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>          <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-ad__placeholder__logo\" src=\"https:\/\/static.euronews.com\/website\/images\/logos\/logo-euronews-stacked-outlined-72x72-grey-9.svg\" width=\"72\" height=\"72\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\n          ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement from Azerbaijani authorities, one drone struck the airport&#8217;s terminal building, while another fell near a school in the village of Shakarabad.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We strongly condemn these drone attacks launched from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which resulted in damage to the airport building and injuries of two civilians,&#8221; the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Videos from the scene show a drone flying towards the airport, damage to its main terminal and emergency crews on site.<\/p>\n<p>In another video seen by Euronews, a drone is seen hitting the airport with a large explosion and a cloud of smoke appearing following the strike.<\/p>\n<p>Baku has requested an official explanation from Tehran &#8220;within the shortest possible timeframe&#8221; and demanded that the attacks not repeat.
