From Death Valley to Antelope Valley<\/a>, from Lemoore to Lancaster, spring has come alive.<\/p>\n And this year\u2019s superbloom<\/a> is one of the best ever. California has enjoyed the remarkable good fortune of three wet winters in a row \u2014 plus unusually warm temperatures in between storms.<\/p>\n As The California Post has reported, there are many places to enjoy the wildflowers<\/a> within a few hours\u2019 drive of LA.\u00a0<\/p>\n Even residents of the Bay Area will find relatively easy road trips to see the magic.<\/p>\n The wildflowers are a reminder of why we love the Golden State \u2014 and why it is worth fighting for.\u00a0<\/p>\n We have a spectacular natural environment. We have an abundance of national and state parks and forests to enjoy.\u00a0<\/p>\n The beauty of California is a constant source of inspiration \u2014 and it is worth preserving.<\/p>\n We know we can strike the right balance between economic development and natural conservation.<\/p>\n At the same time, we also know that our state is in trouble. They leave because California\u2019s leaders don\u2019t return that love. They govern as if they don\u2019t care about what makes California special.<\/p>\n We can turn that around. And we must.<\/p>\n If you plan to visit the flowers, make sure to check out the updates on the websites of state and national preserves. And when you hit the road, try to spend money on local businesses.<\/p>\n Also \u2014 avoid stepping into private property, even if the flowers on the roadsides look enticing. There may be hazards that you can\u2019t see beneath the rainbow blanket of blooms.<\/p>\n Above all, take photographs \u2014 not just to post online, but to compare to the blooms in years to come.<\/p>\n There\u2019s always something different each spring.
