Ryan Gosling<\/a> appeared to be taken aback when an entertainment reporter called him from the middle of the desert. (Read more on the wild interview and check out a clip below.)<\/p>\n

The actor, who is promoting his upcoming movie \u201cProject Hail Mary,\u201d looked on in confusion as Fox 32 Chicago\u2019s Jake Hamilton appeared to be surrounded by rocks and desert soil at the start of the video interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you in a volcano?\u201d Gosling asked Hamilton in a clip<\/a> of the interview shared to his Jake\u2019s Takes page on YouTube.<\/p>\n

Hamilton, who dialed the actor from the bottom of a hill as vehicles drove past on the road above him, noted that he was \u201crushing back\u201d from a tour of the Grand Canyon when his bus broke down on the side of the road.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo!\u201d Gosling exclaimed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am on the side of the road surrounded by Rocky\u2019s family,\u201d noted Hamilton as he picked up a nearby rock in a playful reference to an alien character<\/a> from the upcoming sci-fi movie.<\/p>\n

Gosling continued to hit Hamilton with questions about his predicament.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s like four cars on a trailer [that] just went by behind you, just get one of those,\u201d the actor suggested.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, I would do anything not to miss an interview with you, man, so I appreciate you still taking the time,\u201d Hamilton said.<\/p>\n

Gosling teased the reporter over his look in the moment, \u201cAnd you look like Tom Cruise in \u2018Mission Impossible,\u2019 like, the one where he\u2019s climbing<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor argued that there was a silver lining of sorts as he pointed out the \u201cproduction value\u201d of his video feed.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you technically need to have a permit to shoot there? It\u2019s like you\u2019re doing a Western?\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n

As Hamilton marched through his round of questions, Gosling asked with a smile if the reporter had \u201chelp on the way,\u201d which he confirmed.<\/p>\n
