(WWBT) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/richmondspiders.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/maggie-doogan\/7780\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/richmondspiders.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/maggie-doogan\/7780\">University of Richmond forward Maggie Doogan<\/a> is heading into the Atlantic-10 Women\u2019s Basketball Tournament with a record-setting season behind her and WNBA scouts paying close attention.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Doogan recently scored 48 points in a triple-overtime win against Davidson, setting a single-game scoring record for Richmond and the Atlantic-10, and a season high for NCAA Division I women\u2019s basketball.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThree overtimes was just crazy. I\u2019ve never played that long of a game before, but shots were falling thankfully, and my teammates were doing a really good job of finding me, and I was just able to create a lot of shots,\u201d Doogan said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The 6-foot-2 senior has been <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantic10.com\/news\/2026\/3\/3\/doogan-repeats-as-a-10-womens-basketball-player-of-the-year-a-10-postseason-awards-teams-released.aspx\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/atlantic10.com\/news\/2026\/3\/3\/doogan-repeats-as-a-10-womens-basketball-player-of-the-year-a-10-postseason-awards-teams-released.aspx\">named Atlantic-10 Player of the Year twice<\/a> and was selected to try out for the Women\u2019s AmeriCup Team Trials last summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Head coach Aaron Roussell said he expects Doogan to be drafted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI know for sure that she\u2019s going to be a WNBA draft choice,\u201d Roussell said. \u201cMy side job right now is her agent to handle the calls. I bet I\u2019ve talked with maybe every WNBA franchise to be honest with you, at least close to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Roussell also said Doogan ranks among the program\u2019s all-time greats. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cShe\u2019s a really, really good player, probably one of the best players, if not the best player in history, and one of the best players in A-10 history,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Doogan was a sophomore when the Lady Spiders won the A-10 Championship in 2024. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Now, as a senior, she said the weight of the moment is setting in.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cYou know, my last A-10 tournament, my last chance to win the championship. Like it\u2019s all kind of hitting me at once of, you know, this is my last, so I\u2019m just really trying to take in everything,\u201d Doogan said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantic10.com\/sports\/2025\/9\/11\/WBB26.aspx\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/atlantic10.com\/sports\/2025\/9\/11\/WBB26.aspx\">Richmond plays in the quarterfinals<\/a>, taking on the winner of Game 6 at Henrico\u2019s Sports and Events Center starting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Doogan was recently on 12 On Your Side\u2019s podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.12onyourside.com\/news\/podcasts\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.12onyourside.com\/news\/podcasts\/\">It Ain\u2019t Just Sports<\/a>.
