{"id":507929,"date":"2026-03-06T20:55:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-06T20:55:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/507929\/"},"modified":"2026-03-06T20:55:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-06T20:55:13","slug":"uconn-standout-azzi-fudd-joins-jordan-brand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/507929\/","title":{"rendered":"UConn standout Azzi Fudd joins Jordan Brand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-paragraph=\"main\"><a href=\"https:\/\/andscape.com\/tag\/azzi-fudd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Azzi Fudd<\/a> is officially a <a href=\"https:\/\/andscape.com\/tag\/jordan-brand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Jordan Brand<\/a> athlete.<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">The UConn senior guard and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/story\/_\/id\/47901594\/wnba-mock-draft-2026-lottery-dallas-wings-no-1-pick-azzi-fudd-awa-fam-olivia-miles-lauren-betts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">projected first-round pick<\/a> in April\u2019s WNBA draft was announced as the latest signing to Michael Jordan\u2019s namesake company on Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">Entering this weekend\u2019s Big East women\u2019s basketball tournament, Fudd joins the brand\u2019s female-fronted NIL roster led by Huskies teammate Sarah Strong, LSU\u2019s Bella Hines and Mikaylah Williams, and UCLA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/andscape.com\/features\/uclas-kiki-rice-lands-jordan-brands-first-name-image-and-likeness-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Kiki Rice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">The magnitude of the partnership is not lost on Fudd.<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">\u201cI grew up watching what the Jumpman meant to basketball and to the culture around the game,\u201d Fudd said in a statement. \u201cSo becoming part of the Jordan Brand family represents what I am stepping into and the greatness that I aspire to be.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">Fudd, who averages 17.9 points and three assists per game for the top-ranked Huskies, began her college basketball career as the first ambassador for Under Armour\u2019s Steph Curry Brand. <\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">The deal, along with Curry\u2019s ties to Under Armour, has since expired, allowing Fudd the space to write a new chapter in her sneaker story as she begins her WNBA career next month.<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">\u201cTo wear the same logo that so many legends have worn is something I don\u2019t take lightly,\u201d Fudd said. \u201cFor me, it\u2019s about honoring that legacy while also helping show what the next generation of women\u2019s basketball looks like.\u201d <\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">On the court with UConn, one would expect Fudd to continue wearing team-issued Nikes as part of the school\u2019s exclusive relationship with the Beaverton, Oregon, brand, a deal that\u2019s been in place since 2008.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"single-recirc-link\" href=\"https:\/\/andscape.com\/features\/nike-a-two-aja-wilson-new-sneakers-release-date\/?source=single-recirc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"single-recirc-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Nike-ATwo-APink-Shoe-sneakers-e1772557825576.png\"\/>A\u2019ja Wilson levels up with her second signature shoe \u2014 the Nike A\u2019Two \u2013 AndscapeRead now<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">Strong, Fudd\u2019s teammate who signed with Jordan Brand in November 2025, has played in Nike sneakers for the entirety of this season.<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">Once drafted to the WNBA, Fudd will wear Jordan sneakers alongside fellow active ambassadors including Napheesa Collier, Rhyne Howard and Dearica Hamby.<\/p>\n<p data-paragraph=\"main\">\u201cI\u2019m excited to keep pushing my game forward while representing Jordan Brand with pride,\u201d Fudd said. \u201cAnd I hope that I continue to inspire young girls who dream of playing at the highest level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ian Stonebrook is a culture, sports, and music writer based in Austin, TX.
