Green Bay Packers pass-rusher Rashan Gary’s tenure with the team could be coming to an end soon. <\/p>\n

Gary announced that his time in Green Bay was over on Instagram before later deleting the post on Friday, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo<\/a>. <\/p>\n

ESPN’s Rob Demovsky<\/a> later reported Gary “has not been told he will be released or traded” and that “his IG account was hacked.”<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old has still been the “subject” of trade talks, according to NFL Network’s\u00a0Tom Pelissero<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If Green Bay ultimately chooses to release Gary, it would save the team $11 million in cap space and leave behind $17 million of dead cap (h\/t Michael Ginnitti of\u00a0Spotrac<\/a>).<\/p>\n

It’s worth noting that Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst was complimentary of Gary at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, though.<\/p>\n

“He was impactful towards the second half of the season, maybe not as much as he was in the first, but he was impactful,” Gutekunst said, per\u00a0Matt Schneidman<\/a>\u00a0of The Athletic. “And Rashan’s got all the talent in the world, and he’s produced at a high level for us since he’s been here, and we would expect that next year, as well.”<\/p>\n

Gary finished with 45 tackles, 20 quarterback hits and 7.5 sacks across 16 appearances during his 2025 campaign, although he wasn’t able to record a sack over his final nine regular-season games.<\/p>\n

He’s spent his entire career with the Packers after they selected him with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft.<\/p>\n

Gary led the team in sacks in both 2023 and 2024, although Green Bay could be open to the idea of moving on from him with star pass-rusher Micah Parsons now in the mix.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Green Bay Packers pass-rusher Rashan Gary’s tenure with the team could be coming to an end soon.
