Peter Crouch believes Jurgen Klopp is proof Fenway Sports Group should avoid being \u201ctrigger happy\u201d and stick by Arne Slot. Even though the Dutchman led the Reds to Premier League<\/a> glory last season, this campaign has brought plenty of problems for Slot.<\/p>\n

Not only are his side already out of the title race, but they are also in a battle to secure Champions League<\/a> football next season. And Tuesday night\u2019s last-gasp defeat to Wolves was the Reds\u2019 ninth league defeat of the season.<\/p>\n

As a result, Slot has come under mounting pressure at various points across the current campaign, and although Crouch believes a failure to secure Champions League football next season will invite pressure, the way Klopp bounced back after disappointing seasons shows why the FSG should stick with Slot.<\/p>\n

\u201cMissing out on the Champions League definitely builds pressure,\u201d the former England international told Paddy Power. \u201cThe fans aren\u2019t too pleased with the way this season is going, obviously the loss to Wolves was a really poor result and the season in general has just been disappointing.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on Tuesday night\u2019s defeat, Slot said: \u201cSame old story. Recently we are picking up points because we scored many times from set-pieces.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut end result, we score one and they scored two and another in (added) time so it sums up our season again.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I mean by it sums up our season that we have far more ball possession than the other team and we\u2019ve created most open play chances, but in open play we\u2019ve struggled to score.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy expectations have changed throughout the season because I expected more from us and what we are fighting for now. But it\u2019s another setback and we didn\u2019t help ourselves with this result, not at all.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut there are still nine games to play so we are coming closer to the end and dropping points in the game when it\u2019s absolutely not necessary when you look at the run of play.<\/p>\n
