Angela Luce, an iconic singer and actress, has died.<\/p>\n
She was 87.<\/p>\n
Luce died on Feb. 20 in Naples after battling heart failure, according to reports. <\/a><\/p>\n Luce was called the \u201cVoice of Naples.\u201d She released a whopping 19 albums in her career with the first, \u201cAngela Luce (Fans GPX 6)\u201d coming in 1972 and the last, \u201cLuce per Toto (CD Polosud Records)\u201d coming in 2009.<\/p>\n She also appeared in more than 80 films across her career which spanned more than six decades. Her first film \u201cLa sposa\u201d came in 1958, and her last, \u201cPassione\u201d came in 2010.<\/p>\n She won the David di Donatello award, which is Italy\u2019s equivalent to the Oscars, in 1995 for best-supporting actress in the film \u201cTroubling Love.\u201d Her other notable films included \u201cThe Widower,\u201d \u201cYou Are Born a Gentleman,\u201d \u201cThe Decameron,\u201d \u201cMalizia\u201d and \u201cThe Second Wedding Night.\u201d<\/p>\n One website called her<\/a> \u201ca symbol of Neapolitan culture and entertainment\u201d and \u201ca beloved and recognized artists throughout Italy.\u201d<\/p>\n Luce died just days after taking to social media to offer condolences after a fire wiped out the Sannazaro Theater.<\/p>\n \u201cThinking of the destroyed Sannazaro Theater is truly painful,\u201d she wrote on Facebook. \u201cI am close to Ingrid and Lara and embrace them with deep affection.
