On Friday, March 6, the reality TV star, 45, shared a post<\/a> on Instagram featuring the same two photos of her Pomeranian puppies that she shared on Christmas Day<\/a> in December.<\/p>\n “Welcome to the fam,” she captioned the post.<\/p>\n Kim originally shared a series of videos and photos on her Instagram Stories on Christmas, revealing that her family had grown to include four small Pomeranian puppies: two with dark fur, one with a cream coat and one with sable fur.<\/p>\n On a photo of all four dogs together, she wrote, “Each kid got a puppy.”<\/p>\n Never miss a story \u2014 sign up for\u00a0PEOPLE’s free daily newsletter<\/a>\u00a0to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer\u200b\u200b, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.\u00a0<\/p>\n Kim shares kids North<\/a>, 12, Saint<\/a>, 10, Chicago<\/a>, 8, and Psalm<\/a>, 6, with her ex-husband Kanye West<\/a>.<\/p>\n In January, the Skims founder posted clips on her Instagram Stories of her kids playing with their new puppies at home.<\/p>\n In one video<\/a>, Kim held up a puppy to the camera as one of her kids said in the background, \u201cMommy, look, it licks me!\u201d<\/p>\n Kim Kardashian with her four kids In another clip, Chicago could be seen kissing and hugging the same dog<\/a> in the family’s living room.<\/p>\n Psalm could also be seen shuffling around on his hands and knees along with Chicago as the siblings chased one of the dark-haired puppies around the room.<\/p>\n After revealing the Christmas surprise, Kim quickly drew criticism from animal rights activists, including PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk, who slammed the star for giving a pet as a gift.<\/p>\n “Puppies are not plushies, and it\u2019s a damn shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups and instead is being rightly slammed on social media for that,” Newkirk said in a statement to PEOPLE.<\/p>\n Newkirk suggested that Kim and her sister Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian<\/a> \u2014 who also gifted a dog to her family for Christmas \u2014 “call PETA or a local shelter the next time” they want to add another dog to their family.<\/p>\n “[They can] try to make some amends now by sending their kids to volunteer at a local shelter or paying for a local shelter adopt-a-thon or at least one spay day to help stop the growing homeless puppy crisis,” the PETA founder added.<\/p>\n The Kardashian-Jenner family as a whole has acquired a menagerie of\u00a0pets over the years<\/a>,\u00a0including dogs, cats, reptiles and horses.\u00a0Kylie Jenner<\/a>, Kim and Khlo\u00e9’s youngest sibling, has a multitude of dogs, while sister Kendall Jenner<\/a> owns a horse named Arizona.<\/p>\n Kim and her children have posted photos of their pet lizards over the years, including a bearded dragon named\u00a0Speed<\/a>. They also have several other Pomeranians, including\u00a0two that joined the family in 2019<\/a>.
