Former Chargers<\/a> defensive end Odafe Oweh<\/a> has agreed with the Washington Commanders<\/a> on a four-year, $100 million deal, agents David Mulugheta and Andre Odom of Athletes First told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.<\/p>\n

The deal includes $68 million guaranteed.<\/p>\n

When the Chargers traded with the Baltimore Ravens<\/a> for Oweh in October, he was a struggling edge rusher with zero sacks through five games, looking like a player who had failed to live up to the potential that made him a first-round pick by Baltimore in 2021.<\/p>\n

That quickly changed in Los Angeles, as Oweh finished the regular season with 7.5 sacks in 12 games with the Chargers and then set a franchise playoff record with three sacks and two forced fumbles in the Chargers’ playoff loss to the New England Patriots<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Oweh’s 6-foot-5 frame, combined with his 4.36 40-yard dash speed, has helped him evolve into one of the league’s most promising edge rushers. His 17.5 sacks since 2024 rank 19th in the NFL.<\/p>\n

Oweh, 27, had quickly fallen out of favor in Baltimore, playing a career-low 45% of the Ravens’ defensive snaps before he was traded.<\/p>\n

He has 30.5 sacks in five seasons.<\/p>\n
