The world\u2019s number-one<\/a> women\u2019s tennis player hopes to keep her top-ranked status with the help of a shiny new accessory: her absolutely massive engagement ring.<\/p>\n

Belarusian tennis superstar Aryna Sabalenka, 27, and Brazilian entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis, 37, got engaged on March 3 after Frangulis proposed with the impressive rock, estimated to be 12 carats.<\/p>\n

Frangulis is the founder of the A\u00e7a\u00ed-centric brand Oakberry, which Sabalenka has collaborated<\/a> with on social media partnerships.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaying with the ring on for the first time,\u201d a reporter noted during a press conference at the BNP Paribas Open, a 16-day tennis tournament held at Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Palm Springs, California.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very comfortable,\u201d Sabalenka said, smiling as she gazed at the enormous oval-cut diamond ring, which is set on a sparkly pav\u00e9 band.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you notice it when you play, or was there any worry about something happening to it during the match?\u201d the reporter continued in an Instagram<\/a> reel posted by the Tennis Channel. <\/p>\n

\u201dYeah, we double checked if there\u2019s a possibility to lose a diamond, and there\u2019s none, so I was pretty confident wearing this ring, and it feels pretty comfy,” Sabalenka said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels shiny. I hope that my opponent will get distracted by this diamond and it\u2019s gonna benefit me,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Notably, Sabalenka wore her engagement ring on her right hand because of her and her fianc\u00e9\u2019s nationalities.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn our countries\u2014it works for Brazil and for Belarus\u2014we wear it on the right hand,\u201c she told Tennis Channel<\/a> in an interview. \u201cAnd I believe, but I\u2019m not sure right now, that when you get married, you change it for left hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabalenka went public with her engagement on Instagram<\/a> last week, posting a video of the emotional moment when her now-fianc\u00e9 knelt to pop the question.<\/p>\n

In the caption, she wrote, \u201cYou & me, forever \u267e\ufe0f 3.3.26 \ud83d\udc8d\ud83e\udd0d\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabalenka shared details of the moment in an interview<\/a> with Tennis Channel, revealing that she was not expecting the proposal at all. <\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t even wash my hair, I was so tired,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

Her manager ushered Sabalenka to \u201ca quick 15-minute meeting,\u201d and she put on jeans, flip-flops, and a T-shirt. <\/p>\n

Sabalenka recalled thinking, \u201cI don\u2019t wanna do the makeup, I\u2019m so tired,\u201d and that she \u201cwas hungry as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I got there, I was crying half the time because I looked ugly,\u201d Sabalenka joked about the magical moment.<\/p>\n
