Castillo was initially charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle before it was upgraded, according to Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O&#8217;Neill.Warrants also revealed that Castillo was driving 100 mph in a 55 mph zone. On Saturday, Forsyth County Sheriff\u2019s Deputy Kaleb Mitchell died in a crash while &#8220;serving and protecting,&#8221; according to the Sheriff&#8217;s Office. The crash occurred around 6 a.m. in the 7400 block of Highway 311 at the intersection of Grubbs Road and Highway 311.WXII&#8217;s Chris Petersen has been keeping up with the details and has the latest on the crash. &#8220;Deputy Mitchell was an outstanding officer who served his community as a true professional,&#8221; Walnut Cove Fire Chief Brian Booe said. &#8220;He grew up in Walnut Cove along with his family and our thoughts and prayers are with his family, co-workers, and all the responders that were involved on the tragic accident.&#8221;King Police Department officials told WXII that Mitchell served with their department before joining the Forsyth County Sheriff&#8217;s Office.
