Jennifer Runyon<\/a>, a film and television actor known best for her roles on \u201cGhostbusters<\/a>,\u201d \u201cA Very Brady Christmas\u201d and \u201cCharles in Charge,\u201d has died. She was 65. <\/p>\n

Runyon died Friday, according to a Sunday statement reportedly posted to her social media account, which has since gone private.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis past Friday, our beloved Jennifer passed away. It was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family,\u201d the statement read, according to ABC7<\/a>. \u201cShe will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends. Rest in peace our Jenn.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBewitched\u201d actor Erin Murphy shared in a Sunday post on Facebook<\/a> and Instagram<\/a> that Runyon died \u201cafter a brief battle with cancer.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cSome people you just know you\u2019ll be friends with before you even meet,\u201d Murphy wrote in her tribute. \u201cShe was a special lady.\u201d <\/p>\n

On the 1980s sitcom \u201cCharles in Charge,\u201d Runyon portrayed Gwendolyn Pierce, a fellow college student of the show\u2019s titular live-in housekeeper (portrayed by Scott Baio) and the target of his affections. <\/p>\n

In his Facebook<\/a> tribute, fellow \u201cCharles in Charge\u201d actor Willie Aames described Runyon as a \u201cdear dear friend, muse, and encourager.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom the moment we met on set all those decades ago- I knew you \u2018got me,\u2019\u201d wrote Aames. \u201cWatching you slip away these last few months was one of the hardest times of my life\u2026 I can still hear your voice so clearly. No one will ever be able to fill the massive hole that\u2019s been left in our hearts\u2026 ever.\u201d <\/p>\n

A Chicago native, Runyon made her television debut as Sally Frame in the long-running soap opera \u201cAnother World.\u201d She also appeared in episodes of \u201cMagnum, P.I.,\u201d \u201cQuantum Leap\u201d and \u201cMurder, She Wrote.\u201d Runyon also portrayed the grown-up Cindy Brady in \u201cA Very Brady Christmas<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n

Her film credits include the 1984 classic \u201cGhostbusters,\u201d where she appeared as one of the students participating in the ESP study conducted by Bill Murray\u2019s Peter Venkman. <\/p>\n

On Instagram<\/a>, Runyon\u2019s daughter Bayley Corman, an actor who has appeared on TV shows such as \u201cChilling Adventures of Sabrina,\u201d \u201cBel-Air\u201d and \u201cRunning Point,\u201d described her mother as \u201cthe kindest most compassionate person i\u2019ve ever known.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAll of the best parts of me came from you,\u201d Corman wrote in her tribute. \u201ci would give anything for one more day together.\u201d <\/p>\n
