Harvey Weinstein<\/a> sat down for his first major interview since his arrest, and the disgraced movie mogul spoke about why Gwyneth Paltrow\u2019s<\/a> accusations against him bothered him the most.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause she was a good friend of mine,\u201d Weinstein, 72, said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> published on Tuesday, March 10. \u201cI don\u2019t know what drove her to do what she did.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2017, Paltrow was one of several women who accused Weinstein of sexual harassment. The Marty Supreme star, 53, said that Weinstein invited her up for a meeting in his room at the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel. Before it was over, Paltrow claimed that Weinstein placed his hands on her and suggested they go to his bedroom for a massage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified,\u201d Paltrow told The New York Times<\/a> in 2017.<\/p>\n

Weinstein, who is currently being held at Rikers Island, now claims that The Royal Tenenbaums actress made \u201ca big deal over nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI walked out of a nice meeting with her and said, \u2018How about a massage?\u2019 And she just went, \u2018No, I don\u2019t think so,\u201d Weinstein told THR. \u201cI got the message. I never put my hands on her.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former producer went on to say that Paltrow told Brad Pitt<\/a> \u2014 her boyfriend at the time \u2014 about the incident and the actor, now 62, told him not to \u201cdo anything like that with [his] girl.\u201d Weinstein said that he understood the message.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut then Gwyneth goes on Howard Stern and The New York Times and makes a big deal about it all. She knows that nothing happened,\u201d he continued. \u201cBut this person who was a friend, who owes her career to me, just stabs me in the back. She wanted to be part of the crowd. I won\u2019t forgive her for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weinstein was convicted of sex crimes<\/a> in New York and California, though his original 2020 New York conviction was later overturned on appeal.<\/p>\n
